Accessibility statement
Last updated 2 October 2026
We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on a keyboard, a screen reader, or browser zoom. We aim to meet the international WCAG 2.1 AA standard, and we treat accessibility as part of the work rather than an afterthought.
What we have done
- Built the pages with semantic HTML and clear heading structure, so assistive technology can navigate them.
- Made everything operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline. The information pages have a "skip to content" link, and the questionnaire, results, account and report pages mark their main content so that a screen reader can jump straight to it.
- Grouped each question's answers under the question, so a screen reader announces which question they belong to and which answer is chosen. The arrow keys move between the answers as well as Tab, and after you answer, the next question is where your keyboard and screen reader pick up.
- Given form fields proper labels, and the index answers and rating stars text alternatives.
- Provided text alternatives for images, and hidden purely decorative graphics from screen readers.
- Used a responsive layout that reflows and stays readable when zoomed or viewed on small screens.
- Respected the "reduce motion" setting, so the one ambient animation, and the small movements of buttons and answers on the questionnaire and results pages, are switched off for people who prefer that.
- Made the results page and the 90-day plan print cleanly: the bars, the chart key and the coloured panels keep their colours on paper, and the buttons and the cookie banner are left off.
- Checked the palette by arithmetic rather than by eye: the build fails if body text, links or scores fall below the AA contrast ratio on either page background.
Known limitations
We are honest about where we are still improving:
- A partner's own colours can appear on these pages beside ours. We set each one by hand and check it against our own palette before it goes live, but that check is not yet automatic the way the rest of our palette is, and a partner's logo is their artwork so we do not recolour it.
- The questionnaires and the report charts have been built with care, but if any part is hard to use with assistive technology we would like to hear about it.
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox) and common screen readers. Reading it does not need cookies: the only optional cookie is for analytics, and it is set only if you accept it in the cookie banner, which you can reopen at any time from "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page that uses analytics. Your account pages do not use analytics at all, so they show neither the banner nor that link. Signing in to see your own results uses one cookie to keep you signed in. Apart from the cookie banner, the site does not show pop-ups, and it has no auto-playing media.
